MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces have violated the ceasefire regime in Donbass 66 times over the last 24 hours, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) defense ministry’s press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Monday.

“Over the last 24 hours, settlements were shelled four times from self-propelled guns, seven times – from tanks, six times – from APCs [armored personnel carrier] and IFVs [infantry fighting vehicle], 35 times – from mortars, two times – from anti-aircraft installations, one time – from anti-tank guided missile, 11 times – from small arms and rocket-propelled grenades,” the press service said.

The Ukrainian forces shelled the Donetsk airport, Volvo Center, and settlements of Zhabunki, Spartak, Yasinovataya, Gorlovka, Shirokino, Naberezhnoye, Zhabichevo.

“Four people were injured in the shellings,” the press service noted.

The press center of Ukrainian forces’ military operation said in its turn that self-defense forces violated the ceasefire regime 18 times over the last 24 hours.

Ceasefire in Ukraine

On February 12, negotiations in the so-called “Normandy format” were held in the Belarusian capital Minsk, bringing together Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The talks lasted for around 14 hours. Simultaneously, a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukrainian settlement was held in Minsk.

As a result, agreements were signed that envisage ceasefire in Ukraine’s south-east, heavy weaponry withdrawal, prisoner exchange, local elections in Donbas and a constitutional reform in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian forces and militia forces have repeatedly accused each other of violating the ceasefire regime.

George Soros has firmly sunk his hooks, or claws, into the rump roast that is becoming Ukraine. His Renaissance Foundation is responsible for head hunting, hiring, and apparently paying the salaries of the three new non-Ukrainian government ministers. Sorostan is born.

Possibly the world’s most evil man now has three employees nicely positioned in Ukraine’s government. And Ukrainian citizens thought their Oligarchs were crooks…they ain’t seen nothing yet.

First, a little about the Renaissance Foundation, via Wikipedia:

The International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) (Ukrainian: Міжнародний фонд “Відродження”) is a Ukrainian NGO founded by George Soros.

It was founded in April 1990. IRF is an integral part of the Open Society Foundations which incorporates national and regional foundations in more than thirty countries around the world, primarily in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the former Soviet Union. These foundations share a common goal of supporting educational, social and legal initiatives that promote the development and establishment of an open society.

IRF is the Ukraine’s one of the largest charity organization. Its main objective is to provide financial and operational assistance to the development of an open and democratic society in Ukraine by supporting key civic initiatives in this area.

Over the period from 1990 to 2010 the International Renaissance Foundation supported numerous Ukrainian non-governmental organizations, community groups, academic and cultural institutions, publishing houses etc. in the amount of over $100 million.

Read between the lines and you will understand the the Renaissance Foundation is all about regime change, in order to help make Mr. Soros and his banker clan even more rich and powerful.

The Renaissance Foundation was conveniently commissioned by President Poroshenko to head hunt for “qualified” persons willing t0 take part in Ukraine’s new  government.

Lack of public service professionals on the Ukraine labor market has pushed the government to look abroad for qualified applicants who can take positions.

Prague-based Pedersen & Partners and Korn Ferry, global head hunting firms, have found 185 potential employees, many of whom are members of Ukrainian community in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K.

The Renaissance Foundation, a global network of policy consulting centers launched by American billionaire George Soros, has sponsored the headhunting process. It paid as much as $82,200 to two companies involved in finding the capable employees for the government agencies.

As of now, Ukrainian legislation doesn’t allow the foreigners to hold any public offices, which is why those who’ll accept the government’s job offers will have to take Ukraine’s citizenship. Meanwhile, dual citizenship is not allowed.

President Petro Poroshenko during his Nov. 27 speech in parliament offered to allow the foreigners be officially employed in the country’s government. Moreover, he asked the lawmakers to provide him with legal tools to grant Ukrainian citizenship through special decrees.

Meanwhile, Natalie Jaresko, U.S. citizen of Ukrainian descent and chief executive officer of Horizon Capital, a private equity fund with $650 million in assets, is considered to be a candidate for the position of finance minister, according to the Kyiv Post research.

The sight of public officials being thrown into trash cans all over Ukraine has become the visible expression of popular anger with corrupt bureaucrats, with lustration becoming a key demand by civil society.

Supporters of the lustration law, signed by President Petro Poroshenko on Oct. 9, say that the cleansing of government is necessary to root out old corrupt practices and entrench Western values as part of Ukraine’s efforts to become a civilized European country.

But the law is likely to be sabotaged by officials and faces legal obstacles. Lawyers say that it will be hard to enforce it because courts may rule that it contradicts the Constitution and international law.

In September, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that the law would apply to about 1 million officials. Earlier in October he said that the first 39 top officials had been fired.

Yegor Sobolev, head of the non-governmental Lustration Committee, told the Kyiv Post that the passage of the law was a victory of civil society.

“The parliament, president and Cabinet didn’t really want this law but society forced them to pass it,” said Sobolev, who is one of the lustration law’s authors and has actively pushed for its passage.

He added, however, that civil society had to make some concessions, for example, by excluding members of parliament from the list of people subject to lustration.

Sobolev urged civil society to be actively involved in the enforcement of the law.

“Without citizens and journalists’ active engagement, control over the implementation of lustration will be sabotaged,” he said.

On 9 April in Ivano-Frankivsk, the SMM [Special Monitoring Mission of the OSCE] monitored a protest organized by the “Pravyy Sektor” (Right Sector) and the non-governmental organization Self-Defence. Around 200 people, including ten women, gathered at the main square. The regional Right Sector leader called for honouring the “Heavenly Hundred” and he and the Self-Defence co-ordinator also called for swift lustration. The protestors proceeded to the Department of Justice where they entered the building and forcefully brought out the head of the justice department. They accused him of registering the Opposition Block in the region, placed him in a trash-bin, threw eggs at him and poured ethyl green over him before dispersing. Ten police officers were present but did not intervene.

Ukraine peace process moves forward as shelling stops

The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and the Ukrainian army have reportedly agreed to stop shelling as of 12:30 on Sunday.

The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic have clinched a deal with the Ukrainian army to stop shelling each other; the agreement came into force at 12:30 on Sunday, according to Eduard Basurin, a spokesman for DNR’s Defense Ministry.

“There was an agreement with the Ukrainian side to halt shelling from 12:30,” Basurin was quoted as saying by local media outlets.

Fighting occurred between regular units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces yesterday in Avdeyevka, in the Donetsk oblast. This was reported by the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) Ministry of Defense Corps, Deputy Commander Edward Basurin.

“We have documented evidence of an exacerbation of confrontation not only between the regular army and the Ukrainian Volunteer Battalions, but also skirmishes between units of the UAF,” explained Basurin.

The Deputy Commander said this before reports that the 93rd mechanized brigade of the UAF required the rogue volunteer battalion ‘OUN’ (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists) to leave their positions near Peski.

“And today, April 11, in Avdeyevka there has been fighting between regular units,” said Basurin.

“Please note that these facts of Ukrainian units firing at each other, are presented to the Ukrainian authorities as a violation of the ceasefire by the DNR militia, as regularly reported in the OSCE and Ukraine controlled media,” – said the representative of the military department DNR .

Recall that on April 1st, the DNR Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian battalion “Donbass” opened fire on positions of the “Right Sector.” According to representatives of the militia units who do not want to obey the command of the UAF, “We reserve the right not to respect the ceasefire.”

The leadership of the armed forces of Ukraine had decided, at the end of the day, to take the Volunteer Battalion ‘OUN’ from the line of contact (ceasefire line) in Peski.

“By staying on the front line, the Volunteer Battalion of the OUN, which is not officially part of the armed forces, did not allow Ukraine to fully implement the Minsk agreement”- said in a statement posted on the UAF website.

The ceasefire officially came into effect in Donbass on February 14, 2015 at 01:00 in Donetsk. The DNR has repeatedly stated that compliance with the truce depends entirely on the Ukrainian side.

As reports claim, yesterday, on April 11th, on the eve of the biggest Orthodox Christian holiday – Easter – “Tochka-U” ballistic rocket was launched on Donetsk by Ukrainian military. As a result in several districts of the city a shock wave as felt. Several sources say the missile blew up at the height of approximately 1200 meters. Whether it was hit by the anti-aircraft forces of the Republic or exploded because it was out-of-date is still not known.

Kiev Tanks Attack Donetsk Airport, Repulsed

Ukrainian security force tanks attempted to break through the DPR defenses at Donetsk airport,  Deputy Commander of the Defense Ministry of the DPR, Edward Basurin, told reporters.
“Last night near the village Zhobunki, located in the vicinity of the airport, tanks tried to break the line ” – confirmed the commander.
Earlier it had been reported that the village of Zhobunki was attacked at night by Ukrainian infantry, which was successfully repulsed the militia.
Basurin noted that there are numerous documented cases of attacks on the territory of the DPR from guns of Ukrainian tanks. “In the whole day, Ukrainian tanks let off more than 98 shots.”
“The towns of Shirokino and Spartak were shelled the most “, said the representative of the Ministry of Defense.
“I recorded that the provocation was made by regular forces”, said Basurin.  ” We made this conclusion from the statement of the Ukrainian side, which states that they have replaced the “volunteer” battalions with regular forces of the Ukrainian army. “
Earlier today, the DPR Ministry of Defense noted an increase in the intensity of provocation from the Ukrainian security forces at the line of contact (ceasefire line), including attacks and attempts to break through.

A clash between Ukrainian military and the DPR Army took place in the night from April 12 in the area of the Donetsk airport, reported the Ministry of Defense of the DPR today.
“Today on the Holy Night two infantry units of Ukrainian military attacked settlementZhabunki in the outskirts of the Donetsk airport. A direct clash took place, and then the attack was rebuffed. There are no casualties among our troopers”, said thepress-sectetary of theDPR Ministry of Defense.It is also reported that no one was injured as a result of a mortar-gun mine hit on a residential building in Kuybyshevskiy district of Donetsk
“The mine hit a private house, There are no casualties. The shell as launched from the positions of Ukrainian forces. Experts are conducting investigation on the scene”, the Ministry of Defense reports.

Earlier it was reported that a mine hit a residential building today at about 7:30 AM in Azotnyi residential area of Kuybyshevskiy district.

At least one journalist dead after car hit by Ukrainian armed forces’ missile

One Donetsk area journalist was killed and a second injured near the Donetsk airport following an antitank missile attack on their vehicle presumably launched by Ukrainian forces.

A Donetsk-area journalist was killed, with a second suffering injuries, after an anti-tank missile launched by the Ukrainian armed forces struck their vehicle, an unnamed security services source in the Donetsk People’s Republic told RIA Novosti Sunday.

“One of the journalists managed to survive; he managed to jump out of the car. The second was killed,” the source said.

Donetsk hospital works as normal after Ukraine army’s shelling — health officials

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Donetsk City Clinical Hospital No. 21 works in the normal regime after it was shelled by the Ukrainian army, Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Health Minister Viktor Kuchkovoi said on Sunday.

“The mines flew into the building where there were no patients. As a result of the explosion, only the building’s roof was damaged. The hospital is working in the normal regime. All patients are receiving comprehensive and necessary medical assistance. There were no casualties among the medical personnel or patients as a result of the morning shelling,” the DPR health minister said.

Head of administration of the Kievsky and Kuibyshevsky districts in Donetsk Ivan Prikhodko said earlier on Sunday that four mines had landed on the hospital’s territory as a result of the hospital’s shelling. Three of them exploded near the hospital and one hit the building’s roof but did not explode.

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. A shell fired by the Ukrainian military hit the building of Donetsk City Clinical Hospital No. 21, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

“The Ukrainian shell hit directly the surgery department of Hospital No. 21 located in 12a Kremlyovskaya Avenue. The data on casualties are being specified,” the DPR Defense Ministry told the Donetsk news agency.

The DPR Defense Ministry earlier said the Ukrainian military had started to grossly violate the ceasefire accords reached in Minsk on February 12.

The Ukrainian army is both shelling the Donetsk militia’s positions and making attempts to breach the militia’s defenses, the DPR Defense Ministry said.

Overnight to April 12, two infantry companies of Ukraine’s military launched an attack on the settlement of Zhabunki on the outskirts of Donetsk airport. A direct combat engagement took place and the attack was thwarted, the DPR Defense Ministry said.

Growing tensions at the engagement line caused by provocations from the Ukrainian military may disrupt the peaceful process in east Ukraine, the DPR Defense Ministry said.

The 16-hour marathon summit negotiations held in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on February 12 between the Normandy Four leaders – Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel – ended in a package of agreements, which in particular envisaged a ceasefire between the Ukrainian conflicting sides starting from midnight on February 15.

As a result of the meeting, it was announced that an agreement was reached on the ceasefire in certain districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, the heavy weaponry pullout and measures on a long-term political settlement of the crisis.

The package of measures envisages the implementation of constitutional reform based on Ukraine’s decentralization, and also the adoption of permanent legislation on the special status of certain districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Thousands have been killed and hundreds of thousands of people have fled Ukraine’s embattled east as a result of clashes between Ukrainian troops and local militias in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions during Kiev’s military operation, launched in mid-April 2014 to regain control over parts of the breakaway territories, which call themselves the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s republics.

April 7: Russian military intercepted U.S. spy plane, transponder off, headed for Russian border

The US RC-135U reconnaissance plane was flying towards the Russian border with its transponder switched off, a Defense Ministry spokesman said in Moscow Saturday.

Maj.-General Igor Konashenkov said that an unidentified airborne target was spotted over the Baltic Sea by Russian air defenders on April 7 flying directly towards the Russian border.

A Su-27 fighter jet was scrambled to inspect the target. Moving up to the unidentified aircraft the Russian pilot flew around it several times, made sure it was a US RC-135U reconnaissance plane and reported its tail number to ground control.

“I want to emphasize that the RC-135U was moving towards the Russian border with its transponder switched off… As to the professional qualities of our pilots, this is something for the Russian military command to assess. Moreover, US reconnaissance planes  are supposed to fly along US borders only and nowhere else,” Konashenkov said, adding that no “emergency situations” were registered during Tuesday’s mid-air encounter.

A Pentagon spokesman said on Saturday that a Russian Su-27 jet fighter on Tuesday flew dangerously close to and nearly collided with a US reconnaissance plane over the Baltic Sea.

…”On the morning of April 7th, a US RC-135U flying a routine route in international airspace was intercepted by a Russian Su-27 Flanker in an unsafe and unprofessional manner. The United States is raising this incident with Russia through the appropriate diplomatic and official channels,” Pentagon spokeswoman Eileen Lainez said in Washington.

The Su-27 conducted the close-in intercept in international waters over the Baltic Sea of an RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft, which was monitoring Russian military activities in western Russia and Kaliningrad.

US media try to persuade that the Russian fighter jet flew within just six meters of the reconnaissance plane in what is described as a “reckless” encounter that endangered the lives of the RC-135 crew.

The Russian  Defense Ministry earlier said that all flights by Russian military aircraft are conducted in strict conformity with internationally-recognized rules of flights in international airspace and over neutral waters without violating other countries’ borders.

NATO officials have in recent months complained about an increased presence of Russian military aircraft in European airspace, including over the Baltic Sea.

Russia’s Air Force Commander, Col.-General Viktor Bondarev, dismissed the reports as a propaganda ploy, meant to divert public attention from NATO’s ongoing military buildup in close vicinity of the Russian borders.

It was reported that “the US is preparing to raise the issue through appropriate official diplomatic channels”.

The head of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev has urged the US to stop escalating the atmosphere around the flights of Russian military aircraft in the Baltic region.

“In connection with the incident over the Baltic sea it is necessary to remember about one thing: Russia is a Baltic country, and the United States is not,” – added the Senator.
