Who is Twitter-luring refugees to Germany?

Global Research, September 22, 2015
Oriental Review 21 September 2015

Content-analysis of a great number of tweets that triggered the ongoing wave of migration from Turkey to Germany since August this year suggests that these human streams were inspired and channeled from outside of continental Europe.

According to Vladimir Shalak from the Russian Academy of Science who developed the Internet  Content-Analysis System for Twitter ( Scai4Twi), his study of over 19000 refugees-related original tweets (retweets discounted) demonstrates that the vast majority of them mention Germany and Austria as the most refugee-welcoming countries in Europe:

Counties mentioned in tweets containing #Refugees hashtag, percent

Counties mentioned in tweets containing #Refugees hashtag, percent

Importantly, 93% of all tweets dedicated to Germany contained positive references to German hospitality and  its refugee policy:

• Germany Yes! Leftists spray a graffiti on a train sayin “Welcome, refugees” in Arabic

• Lovely people – video of Germans welcoming Syrian refugees to their community

• Respect! Football fans saying “Welcome Refugees” across stadiums in Germany.

• This Arabic Graffiti train is running in Dresden welcoming refugees: (ahlan wa sahlan – a warm welcome).

• ‘We love Germany!,’ cry relieved refugees at Munich railway station

• Thousands welcome refugees to Germany – Sky News Australia

• Wherever this German town is that welcomed a coach of Syrian refugees with welcome signs and flowers -thank you.

Analysis of 5704 original tweets containing #RefugeesWelcome” hashtag and a country name lead to even larger gap between Germany and the rest of Europe:

The next step is to study the source twitter accounts where the hashtag #RefugeesWelcome + Germany originate. Next diagram shows the countries of origin of the relevant twitter accounts (where they could be idenfitied):

1000541

As you see, only 6,4% of all tweets with “#RefugeesWelcome”+Germany came from Germany itself.Almost half of them were originated from UK, USA and Australia! Looks like your remote planetmates are blushlessly inviting guests to visit your home without inquiring your opinion beforehand!

Further analysis shows that it was only a beginning. A whole army of netbots has galvanized ‘hit-the-fan’ effect to the topic.

On Aug 27 forty automatic netbots @changing_news, @changing_news1,…, @changing_news39 from the United States simultaneously issued the following tweet at 8:00:33AM:

A new welcome: Activists launch home placement service for refugees in Germany and Austria #News #Change #Help

On Sept 1 the same group of netbots releases same tweets with caps on at 22:30:37:

A New Welcome: Activists Launch Home Placement Service For Refugees In Germany And Austria #News #Change #Help

On August 29 at 11.02PMa group of 80 netbots posts the following:

Thousands Welcome Refugees to Germany at Dresden Rally: Thousands of people took to the streets of the German city of Dresden on Satu…

Another group of fifty netbots from Australia (all created on Feb 14, 2014 between 06:02:00 до 06:24:00AM) publish a post on Aug 31 at 17:26:08:

#hot Football Fans in Germany Unite with ‘Refugees Welcome’ Message #prebreak #best

On Sept 1 at 07:29AM 95 netbots owned by Media for Social and Cultural Impact, Dallas, Texas, USA publish the following tweets:

German Soccer Fans Welcome Refugees Amid Ongoing Crisis: As Europe faces the challenge of a wave of migration…

Needless to say that every original tweet was multiplied in dozens of copies and spread Twitter-wide.

Evidently, the logic behind this campaign is to deteriorate social situation in Germany and undermine its economic development. Another target is the social structure of German society. 1 million of refugees coming annually there and supplementing existing 31% of local families having at least one migrant parent, would definitely disbalance the voting structure and secure a loyal leadership in Germany for the decades to come. On the other hand that would instigate ultra-right sentiments within the indigenous population and cause furious clashes between migrants and German radicals. Both processes would result in weakened Germany and diminished EU.

That is the real agenda behind innocent tweeting…

Gorlovka under the shells. Children live here.

September 14, 2015

Total silence of the West on the tragedy of Donbass and the children who continue to die under the bombs in Southeast Ukraine. Even though the media in Italy and the west won’t tell you, the war in the Donbass is continuing into the second year.

Why is nothing being said in Italy about the children dying from the bombing in eastern Ukraine? Do children somehow fall into some different category or not represent any interest in Italy, compared to the football news and the summer gossip?

Sputnik Italy spoke with Ennio Bordato, president of the “Help us save the children,” which directly helps children and victims of war in the Donbass.

Tatiana Santi: The war continues in the Donbass, but nothing is reported about it in Italy. Why do you think that is?

Ennio Bordato: Telling the truth about Donbass means making people think, making people understand where Europe is headed. Europe is hostage to the US, and serves an American policy that absolutely wants to snatch Russia from Europe and Italy from Russia.

Tatiana SantiThe war in the Donbass is therefore part of an even larger project in your opinion?

Ennio Bordato: Yes, it’s a war principally economic in outlook. The Europe that was growing in economic and cultural ties between countries is undermining the US economy, which can not afford to lose Europe and let dialogue and economic relations prosper between Russia and Europe.

Tatiana Santi Just in the city of Gorlovka 16 children died in the first half of 2015. How long will this silence of the West go on, about the children killed in the Donbass? Will this ever get into the press?

Ennio Bordato I believe that it will never. This is a very strange war: there is an army, patched together and supported by European and American money, which is bombing houses and residential buildings, hospitals, orphanages, and schools — from 20 kilometers away.

It is a particularly vicious and inhumane war. Among the civilian casualties are children who were unable to escape and be greeted by the Russian Federation.

Recall that are more than one and half million civilians, displaced from Eastern Ukraine, have found shelter and social services in Russia.

Over 900,000 refugees from Donbass want to stay in Russia.

Many have fled as refugees to Russia, but many remained in the Donbass, where there’s no longer any infrastructure, not to speak of subsidies.

It is the tragedy in the tragedy. There are children who do not get out of the cellars for months, if only to get some air for an hour, like prisoners, hoping the while that some bomb does not fall on their head.

Tatiana Santi We do not know how long this war is going to last. When will it end? What do you think will become of the rubbled cities of the Donbass?

Ennio Bordato: It’s a matter of the destruction of every economic and civil activity. We speak of people getting bombed out, but let’s also consider the social impact. It is a tragedy that will last for the next 20-30 years. If and when the war will end, it will be up to the political side to solve the problems. At the current stage the policy is dead and so is the capacity for dialogue. The American project is being carried out in perfect conditions.

We have to continue to open people’s eyes, to state that this war exists! We have to try to make it clear that the solution is European autonomy, a Europe that is not based on money, but on its culture, on relations with all, with the United States, sure, but also with Russia.

The Ambassador of Latvia to NATO: our biggest threats are the inflow of Ukrainian refugees and the outflow of our population

From Fort Russ

August 4, 2015
Translated by Kristina Rus
The Ambassador of Latvia to NATO, Indulis Berzins announced the list of the biggest threats to the country on the program “900 seconds” on the channel LNT.

Indulis Berzins, who previously held various government posts, entered the position of Ambassador to NATO last week. He shared his perspective about the security of the state on a TV program. The greatest threat is a huge influx of refugees from Ukraine. As the diplomat noted, he was warned about such a scenario by the experts involved in the Ukrainian crisis.

Additionally, Indulis Berzins said that a threat to Latvia is the pessimistic mood of its inhabitants, many of whom resent their country and move abroad.

“If the citizens of Latvia will not agree that we need this state, it will create the greatest threat to the security of the country,” – the Ambassador said.

He also noted that “a group of professional commentators appeared online, which rejects the transatlantic orientation of Latvia”.

Indulis Berzins added that “the most important thing now is to ensure the security of the entire region.” In his words, “the increased presence of allies in the Baltic States, including Latvia, would enhance security and would give a clear signal to any country, that would want to somehow interfere in our internal affairs”.

Speaking about the possible deployment of NATO bases in the Baltic States, the Ambassador said that “now we are working hard to implement the decisions of the Wales summit, not requiring a permanent presence of military forces of other countries of the Alliance in Latvia”.

At the same time, he said, “various military exercises and maneuvers conducted in Latvia, are the guarantor of the policy of containment”.

Indulis Berzins added: “This format does not involve the need for permanent bases. It involves provision of weapons, ammunition and arms, which is very significant — if the situation gets worse, the soldiers, coming over here, will not have to bring equipment.”

However, he stressed that “a permanent base of the Alliance was established in Latvia or the presence of allies was increased, it would only help its security”. At the same time a new envoy to NATO has recognized that there is no direct military threat to Latvia today.

Obama’s war on the Donbass — the devastating toll after one year of conflict

Here are statistics for press releases, flyers, talks, and letters to the editor.

by Stephen Lendman
Global Research, April 18, 2015

US combat troops are working with Ukrainian forces. NATO planes arrive regularly carrying heavy weapons, munitions and other war supplies. Sputnik News explained the toll so far after one year of conflict.

UN figures claim 6,072 killed – another 15,345 wounded. Independent sources report much higher figures – multiples more than conservative estimates.

Perhaps 100,000 or more have been killed or wounded – many maimed for life.

The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) estimates 1.5 million internally or externally displaced refugees.

OSCE officials report seven journalists killed, another 170 injured. These are conservative figures. More accurate ones are likely higher.

Donbass is one of the world’s most dangerous places for journalists. Kiev forces openly target them. Other times, they’re arrested, detained and tortured. Some die in captivity.

In Donetsk, an estimated 9,464 facilities and other structures were destroyed – including:

  • 5,302 residential buildings;
  • 53 hospitals and other medical facilities;
  • 250 schools and pre-schools;
  • 13 colleges and universities;
  • 17 sports venues;
  • 32 cultural institutions;
  • 88 commercial enterprises;
  • 56 industrial facilities;
  • 605 power lines and distribution facilities;
  • 148 heat supply facilities;
  • 30 water supply facilities;
  • 2,669 gas supply facilities;
  • 53 road and transport infrastructure elements;
  • Donetsk airport – turned to rubble; and
  • the Saur-Monila memorial complex – entirely destroyed.

In Lugansk, an estimated 8,500 facilities and other structures were destroyed – including:

  • 7,899 residential buildings;
  • 65 hospitals, clinics and laboratories;
  • 3 gas distribution stations;
  • 33 heat supply facilities;
  • 43 water supply facilities;
  • 37 government buildings;
  • 97 schools and pre-schools;
  • 68 cultural institutions; and
  • 77 churches.

Billions of dollars are needed to restore what’s lost.  All the above devastation was non-military related. Even in legitimate wars, international law strictly forbids targeting civilians and non-military related sites. Doing so constitutes war crimes. Waging naked aggression is the supreme high crime against peace.

Against the US regime change operation: The Syrian people spoke, and they want to keep Assad

How do we stop this machine of death? That’s the question! I’m not sure, but I am sure that one of the initial steps will be learning to respect the rights of a people to control who their own elected officials are and, in this case, this means respecting the fact that the Syrian people have chosen to stick with Bashar Al-Assad!

This is from last year, June 19, 2014, after the election.

From Prayers for Syria.com
By Father Dave

I did not vote for Bashar Al-Assad.

I didn’t vote in the Syrian elections at all because I am not Syrian! If I had been Syrian I don’t know if I would have voted for Assad. I really didn’t take a close look at the persons running against him, and why would I? I’m not Syrian!

As an Australian, it’s none of my business to decide who runs Syria! Why can’t the rest of the non-Syrian world accept this simple fact – that who holds public office in Syria is not our decision? Moreover, the Syrian people have spoken unambiguously as to whom they want running their country. Assad scored roughly 90% of the vote!

To those who have labelled the election as farcical and illegitimate, a few pointers:

Firstly, the voter turnout was incredible! Apparently 72% of those who were able to vote did vote and, according to my friends who went to Syria as neutral observers of the election, there was no evidence of coercion or fraud.

Secondly, while those who voted from within Syria were all from government-controlled areas, that actually accounts for about 90% of all Syrians still living in Syria. Government forces now control all of the major cities. It’s only the outlying rural villages that are controlled by the rebels now.

Moreover, the six million Syrians who have been displaced – either internally or as refugees in Lebanon and Jordan – are almost all from rebel-controlled areas. Syrians aren’t fleeing government-controlled cities. They are fleeing from the rebel-controlled areas to the government-controlled cities.

Thirdly, the voter turnout in countries like Lebanon was extraordinary! Millions of refugees cast their vote, and they voted overwhelmingly for Assad!  The Western media had no explanation for this so they simply ignored it!

Of course those who refuse to accept the outcome of the election are not Syrians but are more likely to be Americans.

John Kerry said that the very idea of holding an election during a civil war was outrageous. I guess he was relying on the fact that there are now no Americans still living who can remember the re-election of Abraham Lincoln who won his second term right in the middle of the bloody US Civil War. I can’t imagine Kerry thinks that the non-participation of the Confederates in that election (almost all of whom would have voted against Lincoln) delegitimised it, even though Confederates made up one third of the total population!

In truth, I don’t think we can take the U.S.A. seriously any more as an arbitrator of electoral fairness (if we ever could). We’ve recently watched Washing give its imprimatur to sham elections in both Egypt and the Ukraine, where empty voting booths in both cases testified to the vacuous nature of these attempts to give respectability to governments that had seized power by military coup.

No. The response of the US to the Syrian election is entirely reminiscent of their response to the election of Hamas in Palestine in 2006. There was really no question that the results were fair and representative of the will of the people. The problem, so far as Washington was concerned, was simply that the people had elected the wrong candidate.

Of course the problem in the case of Syria is that there was no US-preferred candidate on the ballot papers! If things had been different and if Obama had been given the green light to carpet-bomb Damascus last year we would ended up with Syrians being given a choice between a handful of US puppets, with none of the key rebel groups (let alone Assad supporters) being allowed to participate!

So this is where we are up to in what we call the ‘War on Terror’, or was it the ‘Battle for Democracy and Freedom’, or was it the ‘Civilizing of the pagan world’? No … I think that last one was either the Nazis or the crusaders (or both). Either way, it’s the same rampaging machine of imperial violence that has cursed humanity in every age, wearing, as ever, that same transparent veil of self-righteous moralism.

2.5 million Ukrainian refugees in Russia; 6.5 billion rubles spent by Russia on refugees

From AntiMaidan, December 31, 2014

There are about 2.5 million Ukrainian citizens in Russia now. It is about 6% of all the population of Ukraine. Konstantin Romodanovsky, head of Federal Migration Service, said 250 thousand Ukrainian citizens applied for temporary asylum in Russia and 225 thousand were granted it.

Romodanovsky also said that the Russian government spent 6.5 billion rubles to resolve problem of Ukrainian refugees. “They have made major efforts to give Ukrainian refugees an opportunity to adapt quickly and get every document they need to live and work in Russia”, he said on Monday at the meeting of migration experts from Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

“2,5 mln is one million more than we had last year”, said Romodanovsky. He noticed that about 810 thousand came from Southeastern Ukraine. “Almost each federal district of Russian Federation has temporary accommodation centers, their total number is 760, where about 35 thousand people are lodged, including nearly 11 thousand children under the age of 18 years “, he said.
